As the Founder of LilaJane Consulting, Cate works with small businesses, nonprofits, and mission-driven organizations to implement bold and innovative programs & strategies that enhance and expand the relationship between organization and community. Her approach is centered around leveraging existing networks (and those we may not realize we have access to) to unlock opportunities to tell stories, drive change and build communities. She believes change happens at the intersection of storytelling and strategy.
Cate is also the Founder & CEO of Friends Vote Together - a grassroots organization reshaping the dialogue around civic activism and voting. She has developed campaigns and strategies to increase voter participation by making civic action and activism easy, engaging, and ongoing. Under her leadership, the community has grown to 2,500 volunteers and leveraged $400K+ to support grassroots and community-centered organizations across the U.S. and simultaneously restored trust among voters, particularly in disenfranchised communities.
Over the last 18+ years, Cate has worked across the nonprofit and for-profit sectors identifying and building project structures and operationalizing programs, developing, sustaining, and growing relationships, and implementing campaigns that lead to efficient outcomes. Cate has built a reputation as a creative strategist who brings new partners into campaigns and projects, a communications leader who can manage complex relationships, and an experienced campaigner who enacts change in communities across the country.
She lives in Charleston, SC, and loves oysters, live music, supporting small businesses, and getting lost in the latest Scandanavian mystery novel.
